Wedding Toast

Where does the time go? Seems like yesterday we met and were tearing up the wood in middle school together. I turn around and next thing I know I'm in the position of making a wedding toast next weekend on April 10th. I couldn't be more happy for my best friend, taking the next step in his life and taking things to the next level. I knew the time was coming but its crazy how fast it got here. I can remember the day he told me he was ready to drop that question, a blink of an eye later the day is around the corner. Sometimes I question his thinking, for example, we were at the house chillin as usual, and.....

J: Yo Mike you wanna go with me to the mall and help me pick out a ring?

Me: Yeah just let me throw on some shoes

J: (on the way) Man I can't believe Im about to do this

Me: Yeah its crazy but we knew this was coming

J: Let me call moms and see what the price range is

Me: LOL alright you know moms always knows best

J: (at the store) What kind do you think I should get?

Me: Man I really like this one, I'm into the new design and the newer look.

J: Nah thats too different, I like the more traditional look.

Me: How are you gonna ask me to come help you and you already have your mind set on a type lol?

J: Just keep looking

Me: Alright, what about this one?

J: Nah, I like these two over here

Me: Man like I said, how am I supposed to help?

Well I'm sure if you have been around us we are pretty much like brothers so we like a lot of the same stuff but man can we argue about random stuff at the same time. I guess thats what makes it work out so well is that our styles and personalities compliment each other well. People know being roommates with friends can usually turn out sour if you aren't dedicated to it but we didnt ever really have any problems in that situation. Back to the topic though, this isn't a normal task, this is something that is going to be remembered on that big day, you have the spotlight on you for that moment, how do I react to it? How do you fit like 10 plus years of friendship and memories in a 2-3 minute wedding toast? How can you possibly highlight everything I've witnessed with this guy and his fiance over that time that they have been together? So many thoughts are flowing but I have to make it fit just right. Have to make it memorable and not just another speech that everyone doesn't listen to or remember. Well just some questions that I will have to answer over the next week and hopefully it turns out great. I won't settle for less than that so I now have my work cut out.

So please fill free to drop by suggestions or thoughts because two minds are better than one.

Women Lie, Men Lie Pt 2

Ok so over the weekend I was at a friends house and of course we had to have some people over. Well drinks were flowing and people were conversating so I took it upon myself to dig a little deeper on the issue and as I was on the couch talking to three different girls I asked them to answer the same question, in their own way without interrupting the others. Truths always come out better this way.

Me: So Why is it that the girl always is overly attracted to the bad guy when all girls "want a good guy?"

Girl 1: Girls always want what they can't have (typical answer). I like to try to change that person and hope they end up becoming a better person.

Me: If he continues to hurt you, what makes you want to stay there to change this person, they are going to continue to be who they are at this point, if they haven't changed by now its highly unlikely they will.

Girl 2: (currently in a relationship) I have a good guy and I'm glad I found him and in fact I'm so ready to marry him.

Me: Well I'm ready to see yall get married as well and I really am glad yall found each other.

Girl 3: It's all about the chase, I enjoy the thrill of being with someone thats not a goody goody, someone who doesn't always have to do whats right, someone who is spontaneous.

Me: So you would stay with someone who did all of that but what happens when he continues to hurt you? make you go through all the BS, and sneak off behind your back? Is it worth it then? Are all of the tears and stress worth that thrill and chase? Or would you like to have a good healthy relationship with a guy who is fit for you and makes your day better instead of destroys it?

Again I know plenty of people love that chase and thats fine, but again next time you find yourself in that situation, fall back and analyze the person and think of the pros and cons and see which one outweighs the other. I know I would much rather have someone who was there for me and had my back no matter what and not have to worry about what they are doing and who they were with. Good Girls always win over with me but finding that person is the hard thing. I guess when they say opposites attract, they weren't talking about interests or personalities, they were talking about how usually you find a good girl with a bad guy and a good guy with a bad girl. Its funny how things play out but that is life, the ball is in your court, so what are you going to do with it? Life is 10% what happens and 90% how you react to it so how will you react?

Diggy Simmons

Ok so I'm sure most people have heard of or seen the Mtv reality show Run's House. Legendary artist Rev Run hosts the show with his family and shows how they live and issues along the way. Well with the show he introduced his family and one of the sons in particular sticks out. Of course most would think the oldest son JoJo, but after getting negative publicity with getting caught with drugs, and having an average group call Blackout, he definitely lost a lot of fans and followers. Well stepping out of the shadow was the second oldest son, "Diggy", who is always wearing the newest clothes, shoes, and accessories. His idol, Pharrell, has been helping him out in making his new clothing line. Not only is Diggy into fashion and kicks, but he is also now part of Atlantic records. He just inked his deal last Monday, but already has out a mixtape called First Flight. I guess he is trying to follow Drake's footsteps and aim high with a mixtape. He was the first to make a freestyle over Drake's "Over" entitled "Just the Beginning" and then his best freestyle in my opinion "Made You Look" over one of Nas' beats. He went in on this track and made a pretty interesting video overlooking the city of New York. So check him out and see what you think of this 15 yr old.

Street Lights

Kanye West is no stranger to being artistic, creative, and innovative but in this case someone took his song and added some imagery and made a video which takes place in Tokyo. A guy by the name of YeezyDude edited this video along with a couple Directors Spike Jonze and Jonathan Bensimon. I like the visuals and effects that they used in the video and it just shows a video doesn't necessarily have to consist of just the artist doing normal things everyone else does to make a good video. Not only that but the girl in the video is very attractive that is in the cab/club. Around the 2:36 mark Kanye finally shows up in the video. Overall I enjoyed this video and I am very impressed with the editing that went into doing this.

Drizzy

This is one of Drake's new songs for March but not sure if its gonna make the cut for the highly anticipated "Thank Me Later". Drake is one of the most versitile musicians and artists out there, he is like two for one, a great R&B artist mixed with a witty rapper. This is a little different from the songs most people are used to hearing because the don't know all of Drake they just know his popular songs. Well on his So Far Gone Mixtape he had some songs like "A night off" or "Sooner than Later" or "Brand New" or "Lust for Life" which are slower songs but have meaning behind them. He is one of the rappers out there who write about stuff that actually goes on in his life and not just about made up stuff to make him sound street or give him "street cred". This goes in a different direction, talking about how he always goes for the girl of a certain type, usually not a good thing. "Making a mistake I never learned from" He really talks about what happens to a lot of people out there always going for that certain type that they can't break away from. I know it has happened to me and I'm sure I'm not the only one. First listen most people will hate it but thats ok because "Thank Him Later"

Bonus Video, Drake's other new song floating around ft The Dream "Shut it Down". Pretty good duet for R&B artists. Kind of a low key song but definitely don't sleep on it.

Usher Raymond IV

So Usher is one of the greatest R&B artists of our generation and past decade. His music relates to so many people on a personal basis and its not just about making songs because its the popular topic at the time. He has had hit after hit after hit and 13 top 20 singles. He has had millions and millions of album sales and those numbers continue to grow. He recently became divorced and that really gives meaning to his song "Papers." He wasn't divorced when he wrote the song and didn't get divorced because of the song. It's amazing to see someone start off with a career at the age of 11 but became famous and well known at the age of 13. In 1997 Usher teamed up with someone who would help sky rocket his career, Jermaine Dupri. They teamed up to make the album My Way in 1997, which had the single "You make me wanna" and "Nice & Slow". He later came back to make his next studio album 8701, which had "U remind me", "U don't have to call", "U got it bad". This CD was a classic and the songs still don't get old to me. Every now and then I have to revert back to that CD and jam it out. He is such an entertainer and musician and is such a pleasure to watch him perform. Well with a few more years passing by, Usher released is Confessions in 2004 which has now been certified Diamond, selling 10 million plus copies in the US alone. Confessions had some of the songs like "Yeah!", "Burn", "Confessions Pt. 2", and "Caught up". After taking off for a while he returned with Here I Stand in 2008, which had singles like "Love in this Club", "Trading Places", "Moving Mountains", "Love in this Club pt 2". After all that he still came back and made Raymond vs Raymond in 2010. The album hasn't dropped yet and is slated to release March 30, but the album got leaked early. It contains singles such as "Papers", "Daddy's Home (Hey Daddy)", "Lil Freak ft Nicki Minaj" and I got a chance to hear the whole album already and I really like his other songs on there like "Blockin", "The Realest One", and "She Don't Know". Usher was recently on the NBA All Star Game pregame show and performed some of the songs off the album. He is an amazing artist and his music relates to me so I figured that it would be good to share a little bit about one of the if not the greatest R&B artist of my lifetime.

Enjoy this sneak peak of the video which you can catch all of it if you're up late on AM on MTV and also catch "Hey Daddy" video.

Shutting Down the Mall

Spring is finally here so now its time to slide over the spring clothes and push back the winter stuff to the back of the closet. We'll start from top and work our way down. Button down short sleeve shirts are gonna become more popular especially with the plaid or checkered print. I really need to get one of these I especially like this design Trey Songz is rocking. I like the small strap on the outside of the sleeve with the button. Guess I'm gonna have to make my way to Express to find one of these shirts. So definitely look at getting one of these for me or maybe for one of your boyfriends lol.

When it gets a little warmer or if you just want to be casual, throw on a polo tee. Yes it will cost you about $30 for one of these simple tees but the feeling of having one on and the quality of the shirt is worth it. They are light feeling and not baggy or big so it fits perfect. Definitely will be adding some more of these to my collection ASAP!

This belt is so crazy to me. The design is sick and not only that but it is one of the top designer brands, Louis Vuitton. Sure I would love to have this belt but the price tag is definitely telling me to fall back. You're looking about about $420 for this belt and that is outrageous unless you are filthy rich! I don't see too many of those around but maybe if I fall into some extra extra cash, you might be seeing me rocking one of these. Maybe even if a nice girl would like to grab this for me it would be deeply appreciated lol.

Now it's time to get you some polo shorts. Again I think they are comfortable and relaxing. Not over doing anything but still not being a bum and having just normal basketball shorts on. So these go perfect with a polo tee or button down shirt so either way you're safe. So invest in some nice khaki shorts and get your first step to looking fresh.

On to the shoe game. These are perfect for a polo tee or graphic tee and are casual and relaxing. New Balance makes some pretty comfortable shoes and if you are just running to the store or chilling with some friends you can throw some of these on and get on about your day. These have yet to have a release date but they have caught my eye for the time being.

These are kinda biting the sperry look but for sneaker heads these will help turn some heads on the beach, lake, or pool side. I like the design and especially since I have major brand loyalty to Nik. These would make a perfect fit for my collection and will definitely be buying some soon. You can get you a pair for around $80

Now when you step out of the house you can't forget those shades especially since we are getting some sun. Dolce and Gabbana 4070 series glasses are so fresh. The black frame with the grey gradient lens make them really a good combination with you spring/summer look. These are a bit pricey at about $230 but if you are willing to have good glasses and you can keep up with them, It will help ya get looks with the ladies haha. So might have to put a major dent in the wallet but I have some similar ones for now.

I know I posted a similar topic a while back and told yall white was in, but so are colors. G-Shock watches are a good way for people to accessorize, the colors really add to the outfit so these could be a possible purchase as well. I enjoy adding colors to my outfits, it really makes you stand out and show you know how to dress and don't want to just look like a bum, or the average person.

These are just some more tips on things I think are interesting and popular so I guess we'll see what I'll be investing my money on.

LeBron James

LeBron James is a freak of nature plain and simple. He stands about about 6'8 and is about 250, but I'm going to say he is a little bigger than that. Well LeBron just recently became the youngest player to reach 15,000 career points, beating none other than Kobe Bryant. Kobe set the record at the age of 27 and 136 days and his 657th game, LeBron shattered that by doing so at the age of 25 and 79 days and his 540th game. He scored 29 points against Chicago to get to 15,026 points. There is no way you should be that big and that fast but that makes him one of the top two most dominate players in the league today. We are used to seeing him represent the number 23 well but that won't be the case for that much longer, he recently asked to be switched to #6 to pay respect to the great Michael Jordan. It is always exciting to watch LeBron come out, do his chalk throw, and his photo shoots with the team, and of course his dances. Never a boring game when this guy is on the court and I'm ready to see how great he can get when he has the experience and years put in that Kobe has. If he is breaking all these records now it will be scary to see how good he will be in the near future. So enjoy watching this guy play and I'm sure you will hear his name being called very soon as the playoffs are within reach.

Everybody needs to have fun when you're doing what you love and born to do.

I'm Backkkkkk

Well finally home from Spring Break 2010 and what a time it was. Definitely didn't hold back at all and met tons of new people. It's funny how much people let loose on spring break and how everyone seems to just forget about where ever it is they're from and all come together to have a great time. Kinda interesting how small of a world it is when you are on the ferry waiting to get to the beach and you hear a girl start yelling and cheering and saying go ASU. After seeing the parking sticker on my truck they knew where I went to school and automatically it sparked a conversation. After talking for a bit we decided to try to catch up later but soon got lost in the mass groups of people that were there going out at the same time lol. Well Friday night was a big night for us because we became probably the most popular guys out that night at the bar. With a little help of some of the biggest beads you will ever see, girls and more girls decided it was picture time including a bachelorette. We definitely weren't shy and especially not on the dance floor. One of the most popular dance songs the "Cupid Shuffle" came on and it was game over from there. We owned the dance floor as the night progressed and we continued to have those flashing lights and photoshoots until getting the signal that it was closing time. As for saturday, the weather played a huge factor in my decision to cut the beach time there, with the temp dropping 20 degrees and it feeling like a mini hurricane was rolling through, that was my sign that it was time to go. I'm not a big fan of long drives and that made it even worse knowing how many hours it was goign to take to get back home. I finally made it but that last hour and a half was the longest evvverrr. After a power nap and monster, I finally started to wake back up and that helped me finish on my spring break with a great time hanging out with friends. Now its back to reality and back to the normal routine of school work school work! Play time is over for now but I will be sure to make a get away sometime in the coming months. So I hope everyone had a safe trip back home and I hope yall enjoyed yourself as much as I did!

Fun in the Sun

So finally got a minute to get on here and share a little bit of the beach experience. Man sand and water everywhere can really help you escape the real world for a bit and allow you to relax and get away. The sound of the waves and the warmth of the sun really made me think of investing in a beach house soon. So it's spring break and there are people from all over here ready to get it in and have a good time. Drinks are flowing and beads everywhere usually leads to some real spring break action. Never knew how quickly the beach can drain you after just a few days but gotta tough it out for the next few since it's the official hottest days to be there and that's when it really goes down! I'm trying to make my way deep sea fishing but we'll see how that goes. What made it so tempting was that a guy caught a 9ft hammerhead shark, I don't really wanna catch that but something like that would be interesting! The nightclubs were cool and we had to shut it down until closing time and they kicked us out haha! But just a quickstrike post and I'll catch yall up on Sunday or before if I get time!

Have a great weekend and finale to spring break!

Women lie, Men lie

Well before falling asleep, I caught myself watching a the movie " The Ugly Truth " and some points made in the movie were actually kind of true. Women and men are completely opposites and our mindsets couldn't be any more different. Relationships are so cause and effect and no one can really tell who has the upper hand in the relationship. In most of my experiences I have come to find out that most girls prefer a "bad guy" over a "good guy" but then later they complain that they wish there were guys like in the movies. Well for starters, you can't find that guy in the movies if you consistantly go for that thrill in seeking a bad guy. You can't change them, they will be who they are now so you will just continue to get ran all over. The good guy does in fact finish last and consistantly get over looked. I don't really understand it and not sure I ever will. There are good guys still out there and I like to believe I'm still one of them. It's surprising how being mean rude to girls actually works. Acting like girls don't exist or being a dick to them does actually make them want you more. Why is that? Is it all about the challenge and not about what he can do for you? Again I may never know the correct answers to these questions. Personal experiences I can say there is this one girl who I can't really stand and I have ignored texts, calls, been rude for once and she couldn't be more attracted to me. I never wanted that nor have I wanted that attraction but these scenarios actually work. I can't see myself acting like this to the girls I really am attracted to but if it works this well it might be taken into consideration. Women are so complicated and confusing but that's what makes things interesting and fun. Maybe one day I can actually find a girl who is not turned on to bad boys and who actually wants to be happy and treated the way evey girl should be. Until then, these are just random thoughts and my way of seeing things and hopefully I can find a person who will truely make me happy, as I will do for her.

Hopefully there are a few of you out there who actually want to be happy!

Weekend Recap

Well Friday night was the start of my spring break and what a way to start it off! Well as usual when in the wood, the usual hang out spot was the place to be. Mainly a late celebration for one of my future roommates birthdays since I couldn't be here on the actual day. Nonetheless it was a great time with great friends. Ruthless and I of course were balling it up on the table and ended up turning out whoever won had a bit of a better partner. Well the night progressed and of course a late night trip to whataburger had to happen and man were there laughs shared. Well the night ended at around 5 am and what a way get spring break rolling. Saturday, as you would expect turned out to be a lazy lazy day! Tired and drained, the only productive thing I did was wash my truck and watched a movie with those roommates. I figured I better pace myself if I wanted to make it through the week. Sunday started off good, time with the fam and afternoon at Larics. Well a few hours to hang out and it was time to say goodbye to my car bed roommate K daily. After that it was movie night watching law abiding citizen and while she was out with the second one being a choice of LB. All in all it was a good refreshing weekend but the real spring break starts tomorrow!

Hope you're having a great spring break week as I will be.

Spring/Summer Trends

Yes, It is time to bring out the spring colored pastel and bright Polos. Nothing better then stepping out of the house in a new polo shirt. If you take a look in my closet you'll see what looks like a bag of skittles, meaning a wide range in colors and its getting kinda hard to find a color I don't have. Yes I have been made fun of because it is color coordinated but is it so bad to be neat and organized when it comes to your appearance? No they aren't all Polo polos but then again I don't just stick to one brand. So make your way out to the mall and pick up a new Polo just in time for spring break.

To go along with the Polo shirts, you need some casual shoes and not just flip flops. Polo has come out with some good color ways to their casual shoe so take a look at these and dont sleep on them.

When it gets a little warmer then its time to make your way to the Graphic Tees section. Its good to have little variety in your closet so be sure to add some out of the box tees and be different. This is a simple way to enhance your shoe game and get a tee that goes with the colorway of your shoes.

Nike casual lows. Get yourself a nice pair of Nike shoes and some shorts and go on about your day. You can dress casual but still look good doing it. So get yourself some Nike Vandals, Nike air max 90, Nike air max 95, Nike air structure triax, Nike Air Max Wrights. These are simple but classics and will get you noticed by any sneakerhead.

Finally, White accessories, White watches are a big thing that I have been getting into. I really like getting new watches and white is the new color. Black and Brown has been done before and I have both but I really like white. It goes with everything and it stands out. Older fashioned people are usually turned off by new trends or they don't dare to be different but thats where I am different. I like to be in the new trends before people, I don't stay in the box, I enjoy being a trendsetter in my own way. It seems to be the era of "All black everything" but there are so many people jumping on that bandwagon, I plan to stay far away, I wear to many colors to go all black. Genius is the only person I don't mind going all black because that is a part of him and he has been dabbing with the all black before it became popular. So again white is a clean look so definitely look into it.

Just a few tips for your next shopping trip.

Spring Break Begins

RST Boys (Right Side of the Tree)

Don't really mess with these guys too much now, but they do come up with some clever ideas for songs or parodies. This is the 08 version of the song and I found out that the actually have the 2010 version out but not on video. I used to be a big fan of their stuff back in the day but now they took on a whole new direction in music and its not really my style. Well when they cover or do a parody of another song is when they bring out their best creativity in my eyes. But I thought the song was fitting due to it is now offically spring break minus the fact that I am at work until later this afternoon. But regardless I plan to have a great time being away from school and work for a week. But have a safe and fun Friday.

Congrats to Myself

Finally! Now that all those tests are over with, its on to do one last assignment before freedom for a little over a week. Ahhhh I just want to go to the top of the closest mountain and let it all out but now its time to get geared up for this spring break. I just want to congratulate myself on getting through this hell week and now its town to look upward and forward and finally that light at the end of the tunnel is bright and sunny! Time to pull out the shades, Polo swim shorts and some pastel and bright colored polos and khaki shorts. Maybe some bright colored tees and some summer kicks as well. I can almost hear the waves going back and forth, bottles popping, and the grill cooking. Nothing better to calm your nerves than some good quality time with those you call family. But before all of that goes down, its on to get fresh before the get a way and get a fresh cut today and maybe a few celebration drinks with my boy genius and some others. I hope everyone has gotten through their week and is ready for their get a ways as well. Consider tonight a bit of a Pre Game session for the coming week. One Down Three to Go

So this dreadful week continues. Well the day started with a test at 9 am and all I can think about is getting through this and knowing I still have another painful and stressful 36 hours ahead of me. With one test down and three more to go this picture kinda symbolizes the importance of a much needed drink afterwards lol. In all seriousness I know I have to get myself ready for these next few tests and leave Friday with a sense of accomplishment. Without pain there is no joy so I know I have to endure this painful week to really enjoy myself on spring break. Ahhh the joys of school, well I have to cut this short in order to get ready for these tests but have a great Humpday and hopefully yall are having a better week than I am.

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, just gotta pursue through it all to get to where I need to be.

Spring Break Meltdown

Well as a lot of you know this year was supposed to be a huge spring break, due to the fact that one of my best friends was getting married this year we were going to celebrate my spring break mixed with his Bachelor party and make it a whole week celebration. Well didn't quite work out that way. Due to people not being able to get off from work or maybe some financial issues we let the party of a lifetime slip through our fingers. A bit depressing, yes, but maybe my wallet among other things were looking out for me because more than likely things could of ended with me being absolutely broke, or married. Lol. Still with that being said it would have been an experience for sure but I'm sure this won't be the last time that we try to make a get a way to Vegas but it won't have the same meaning behind it. When our group of friends get together we usually go all out and have a great time for sure. I just cant wait to see that happen in sin city. Only time will tell when this trip may come about but in the mean time back up plans have surfaced.

So after a phone call, I found out that my family has a beach house and that sounded a bit far from what I was planning to do, mainly from anger of not going to Vegas I rejected that idea. Well after some thought and the fact that I now have four tests in two days on the week before spring break, maybe the beach isn't such a bad idea. What better way to relax and get away from it all, as far away from school and SA as I can get for a week. Being around family that I don't get to see very often and catching up with some crazy funny stories, soak that in with some refreshing drinks, and I'm 22 so some partying is definitely going to be thrown in the mix. Well one more week til I am sitting in the sand, watching the waves, and reflecting on what it is I want to accomplish in my lifetime. I am still young but my dreams and goals are much bigger than that but with faith and persistence, everything is attainable. So I hope everyone has a great Tuesday, this is just a brief segment of what has been going through my mind.

Oh and just a sidenote to all my friends, Relax (Drink) Responsibly

XXL's 2010 Freshman Class

In this years freshman Class of 2010 I mainly mess with 3 of the chosen ones. J Cole who I first heard on Jay Z's BP3 was straight ripping the track up. He is a young talented artist and its gonna be good to hear what new material comes from this dude.

J Cole, ready to see what he brings to the table, has a slight buzz and lets see how he carries it.

Wiz Khalifa. Interesting name and more interesting rhyme patterns. Kinda similar to XV who also should be considered a 2010 Freshman. Witty and clever lines are abundant with Wiz and if you have heard some of his songs he has a humorous catch phrase.

BIG SEAN. This dude comes with it and also is very clever with words. Sean is very lyrical and is also signed to G.O.O.D music along with Kanye West. Interesting story on how he got signed but that just shows that persistance and the ability to spit bars for 16 consecutive mins might impress Mr. West himself. Look forward to this guy being on the radio and making more mixtapes along with his Finally Famous Lp. I'm ready to see B I G get his album together and maybe he'll get something in the works with Drake. Definitely could see something like that working out.

But take a look at these young artists and see what yall think of them. Remind you that these are freestyles so of course not as good as actual songs that they have out.

So last night was another Sunday movie night and we decided to go see The Crazies. Overall I expected to be let down but it turned out to be a pretty good choice. I won't say to much about it out of respect for those who haven't seen it yet but plan to. Not so much of a horror film but more of a suspensful kind of thriller. Kind of shows the a side of the government that is probably out there doing these types of things and we have no idea whats even going on. But just a quick reminder to check this movie out and it will most likely be a purchase on Blu-Ray whenever it drops.

Kobe Zoom V ID Contest

Ok so everyone knows how into shoes I am aka "Sneakerhead" and thanks to NiceKicks.com I came across an article that said Kobe Zoome V ID contest. So basically what it said was that on March 3, the contest started and would go through March 9 and what you had to do was make a custom shoe and any color that you wanted how you wanted but if you were the winner Kobe would wear the shoe on his next home game and you would be courtside in a pair of the shoe that you made yourself and not just that but they would be signed as well. So anytime you get free shoes I'm all in. Not a huge fan of the Lakers but to get the opportunity to be in LA courtside for a game with free signed Kobe shoes, where do I sign up? Well after knowing a good deal about the Kobe V's, I started thinking of all the colorways that he has already, Chaos'(which I own and are so crazy), Black/Purple/Gold, White/Black/Red, White/Purple/Black, Dark Knights, Bruce Lee's, and now Black Mambas's. Well before the Black Mamba's dropped on like Friday, I started thinking he has a white based shoe, he has a black based shoe, but not really a purple based shoe yet, so I came up with the Purple Mamba. Mostly purple with yellow accents but what sets this shoe off is the clear sole. Clear soles or "ICY" soles really add to shoes and make them that more attractive. Nike Foamposite One Coppers and Eggplants, Space Jams, so yes these are very exclusive and turn heads for sure. But take a look and see what you think and maybe I will get that notification that I will be in LA sometime watching the game in shoes I created.

Weekend Recap

Well well its Sunday and a pretty relaxing one so far and its always good to have one of those before a very dreadful Monday. Weekends seem to go by faster and faster these days but with spring break right around the corner it might make this week drag a bit longer. So saturday for the most part was a alright, started off working at 7:30 am and got off at 12. After that it was off to BWW to have a good lunch joking and catching up with friends. Some of them were mostly hungover which made for better conversation lol. After BWW it was off to genius's spot to work on those video games where we went head to head in MLB 2k10 and after racking up a W in the column, he challenged me to NBA 2k10. That lead to a pretty intense game but yet again came up with another W lol. In his defense, I played an unbelieveable game thanks to Kevin Durant, but Kobe was having a very bad game making mistakes he would NEVER make. It was a good time nonetheless and a great way to stay competitive. Finally it was off for the night to have a few drinks with some new friends that I had met and to say the least it was very entertaining. I have to say it has been a while since I have met a group of girls that were that funny and could have me cracking up all night. Good looks on the genius for the introduction and I'm sure it won't be the last time we hang out with this group. So overall it was a good weekend so far and now its time to sit back and enjoy some NBA before having to do some dreading homework later. So to everyone, I hope yall had a great weekend and I hope yall enjoy yalls Sunday.

Friday Night Recap

Well last night started off by remembering a great friend and attending the 1st annual pancake dinner and supporting the American Cancer Society. I'm sure everyone has been affected in some way either by knowing someone who has had cancer or lost a close family member or friend. Last nights pancake dinner was to pay tribute to one of my good friends as well as to many others, Josh Tittle, what a great friend and role model for that matter. He was a strong, driven, individual and determined to make good out of his situation. He blessed the lives of so many and will continue to inspire me and everyone else he came in contact with.

After catching up with great friends at the pancake dinner it was off to Cheddars to catch up with two other friends genius and the coach. Talking about what's in store for the weekend and what's being planned for spring break. Conversations and laughter usually comes out when being around these two so that always puts people in a better mood.

After Cheddars it was off to catch up with some old friends that I haven't seen in a while and catching the Eli Young Band perform. Not the average country band to say the least but the songs I knew brought back some memories. After seeing co workers, double d, lo, and a few others made the night more enjoyable. I guess the majority of SA decided to show up because it was literally shoulder to shoulder in the building and basically getting violated everytime someone would walk by. Thankfully we had the perfect spot with the AC blowing right on us and made things a little easier. Lyrics and laughs came from everyone throughout the night along with a few drinks. Had to be responsible and take it easy due to having work in the AM. Ran into old friends from back home and it's good to see what they are up to and how life is treating them. All in all the night was a success and plan to continue the weekend on a relaxing pace and see how things unfold.

Lil Wayne ft. Eminem- Drop the World

Well its great to see two of the top MCs in the game today get together and create music. Second time ever that these two have come together to make a song, first time being on the Drake "Forever" track. Wayne and Eminem are two of the most lyrical guys in the game so it adds for a great song. I expected more out of the video but the song is crazy to say the least. Kinda cold and creepy beat and the two just come with it. Eminem just comes in and spits like no one else can and has that uniqueness to him. Well I'm sure this isn't the last time we will hear from these two together so take a look and see the video and enjoy Drop the World.

Listen to Lil Wayne

Drakeover

Ok so I'm sure everyone knows Drake by now and if yall haven't then yall have probably been hiding under a rock some where. Pretty clever with the Drake Takeover = DRAKEOVER. Drake is a fresh talented artist that figured out a way to take hip hop to new lengths as a freshman. I have been following this dude since the wheel chair Degrassi Days, yes I said Degrassi, but even back then he was a creative guy. He is as Genius would say, disregards the social norms of music and not always comes out with "street music" or a club bangers but he likes to dig deeper and talk about what he goes through in his everyday life and the rise from a teen show star to taking over hip hop by storm in 08 and even more in 09. Not many freshman can get co-signed by Kanye, Lil Wayne, Jay Z and Eminem without even having an album out. So Far Gone was far from what people were used to in hip hop but today countless people can sing a long to the majority of that mixtape. Haven't really been disappointed yet by any of the tracks that I have heard from him so why start now? Thank Me Later is an appropriate title for his album, People first hear his music and think this guy is wack, he isn't street, his music is for PG-13 audience, but for most of the haters, take a look at what is on their ipods and money says Drake is on there. People often go back on what they say at first and are jamming his music on the low. Hence the "Thank Me Later", Thank him after you have heard it a few times and you will grow to like it.

Okay so now back to the new single titled "Over", this is a track much like his track "Fear", similar style beats and he uses the similar style of flow to this song. He starts off by expressing that with his rise to fame and how he has met a lot of new people, not always the people you would want to have around and that is why he asks "who are yall?". He then goes on to say "what am I doin, oh yeah thats right I'm doing me". He is always doing his own thing, not really worried about what people think of him but he can change your opinion through expressing himself in his music. Overall I think he killed this song. Something you can vibe too and something I will definitely add to the collection asap.

Sorry for the run ons and randomness this is my first actual blog post but I will get better with time. Like I said, I just do my own thing.

Again, Thank Him Later
